QuickBooks Online cleanup services still have to say what moves, what stays, and whose login remains.
A serious quote names the balance sheet accounts it will touch. Cash, the cards, what customers owe, what you owe, sales tax payable. If the line says the whole file, ask which of those five it will actually open.
Lay this beside the quote. If the accounts line is a mood, the rest of the page cannot be trusted yet.
The scope has to say yes or no. Will a year that already went out on a return be reopened, or will the work start after that year. A cleanup that is silent there can rewrite a year you thought was finished, or it can refuse to, and you will not know which until the file has moved.
The subscription stays in your name. The person doing the work uses an invite. When the project stops, that invite can be removed. A quote that takes the login, or that stays in the file with no end, has not finished the last line.
You should hold a file that ties to the bank on the accounts the brief named, a note on whether the filed year moved, and a date for the first ordinary month. A pack of reports with no hand back is a middle, not an end.
After the project, someone still has to close a month on a date. That question belongs in the scope, as a yes or a no, so you are not sold a second engagement by surprise. The project can end. The month after it is a different buy, and the brief should say which one you are in.
A cleanup that sorts deposits and never looks at sales tax payable is unfinished for a Texas file. Monthly sales tax comes due on the 20th, so that payable belongs on the accounts line.
The 20th is the Comptroller monthly sales tax date, opened 29 September 2026 at https://comptroller.texas.gov/taxes/sales/.
Buy the cleanup as a project with an end. Hours with no lines are a tab that never closes. We do not print a price of ours. Intuit publishes its own cleanup offer, including a public floor of 600 dollars and a first session of about 90 minutes, on its page rather than on ours.

You can lay one quote on these lines without booking a time. The missing lines get marked. The call is for when you want the work, not for permission to read.
Marking up a cleanup quote is ordinary buying work and it doesn't come with a CPA license. Audits, reviews, compilations and any report that gives assurance on your statements belong to a firm that holds one.
If a quote you're already holding promises one of those, we'll say so before a file gets shared and point you at the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy lookup. Payday isn't run from this desk either. The full wording is on the disclosures page.

A Tax CFO is the controller and CFO seat for an owner-run business with the tax work inside it, so the books, the return and the plan come from one desk and the October number is decided before the year ends.
Breadth is those lines covering the books and the return together. Height is knowing which line, if any, is really a request for a signed report.
I can see which line my quote skipped. I have not handed anyone the file to find that out.
